Red, white and blue in an American color classic! You can see it everywhere from flags to candy to flowers and more. It’s the colorful American look that is quintessential for jaunts to Cape Cod and Newport. So today we are pushing black to the back of the closet and setting sail on our spring summer neutrals: navy and nude! They pair perfectly with this red sheath dress! Don’t you think? While it’s fun to pop in pink and purple, sometimes classic just feels right.
Happy Friday Everyone!
Is that a sigh of relief I hear? It’s time to kick back, relax and enjoy yourself. At Kyle Alexandra we love a good wrap dress. Diane Von Furstenberg can do no wrong. After designing and producing the all-figure flattering dress, other manufacturers and designers followed quickly in her footsteps. Now you can find them in an assortment of colors and styles and we are here to tell you to jump on the bandwagon! This is one piece that is typically created in a jersey or knit material, which is ideal for traveling. It is super flattering on all shapes and sizes and it can take you from day to night, flawlessly! Tell us – what color do you plan to purchase?
How amazing is this outfit of the day? It’s comfortable, put together and chic. There is something to be said about color blocking. By breaking up the black with a green a-line skirt, your silhouette will look extra long and lean. As previously stated, we are huge fans of Spanx tights! They are stretchy and thick. We suggest you invest in a few pairs and you will be set for the season! How easy is that? Another new favorite? These adorable black suede wedges. They are darling and pair with many skirt sets hanging in our closet.
Like most women, we love a great bag. And while we adore all different types of designers, it’s hard to shell out thousands of dollars for a simple handbag. At times it makes more sense to purchase an inexpensive bag that resembles the expensive brands. Today we are providing a few examples we are currently eyeing. Zara, Coach and Kate Spade are extremely accessible, affordable lines. And as the weather gets cooler, it may be a good idea to opt for a neutral brown or patent black!
Do you have a favorite handbag designer?
Yesterday we told you how to change over your closet for fall, and now we are bringing you the first of many beautiful looks that you can implement into your wardrobe. Jewel tones are best for saturated color combinations this fall, but we are kicking off our look of the day series with delicious neutrals! We urge you to be careful with wearing brown. Rich cognac colors tend to be our favorite. Pairing cognac leather with cream and camel makes for such a luxe look. It’s professional and fashion forward!
Spring is in the air (even if the weather hasn’t changed yet) and we are so excited! We’ve started to gather spring outfit inspiration for clients, so we are sharing a few of our favorites here today. When we attended the spring shows at New York fashion week back in September the black and white trend was huge. Milly and Rachel Zoe created stunning silhouettes using the stark neutral contrasts. While we don’t approve of some of the laser cut outs and crop tops we saw on the run ways, this black and white dress would be darling for anything from work to a bridal shower! Spice it up with a bold colored flat. Speaking of laser cut outs, this white skirt is Kyle Alexandra approved and would be that special item to add to your closet this season.
Don’t worry ladies – colored skinnies are back! Instead of the jewel toned cords from fall, mint and radiant orchid are spring go-to colored, casual bottoms. Pair them with a soft pastel like the purple pullover sweater for an afternoon shopping spree or spring soccer game. And you will certainly be needing some outerwear for the transition of seasons! We’ve found that colorful, collarless jackets are a must have. This darling blue number is feminine and classic, but the color makes it modern.
And we can’t forget about accessories! The bolder, the better. For a date night or spring concert we recommend pairing a neutral ensembles with a metallic clutch and bold statement necklace. You can never go wrong with a pop of color!
I hope you are as excited for the warm weather as we are!
