As women we can all agree that black is the perfect color. It’s hides everything! Every little nook and cranny that we’d prefer to look smooth and flawless hides within a shade of black. But when you wear black, you lose that punchy opportunity for color! And this season? Color is EVERYTHING. So we’re here to help you start bringing forth the color in creative ways. As you can see we really played on the complimentary colors of coral and lilac. If you’re going to go with a black dress, sunglasses, bag look for work – why not spice it up with a POP of color heels and coral lip. Super fun! XO

Color Moment: Blush
Introducing a new series on the Kyle Alexandra blog! We already wrote a post on this years Pantone colors (a soft pink and pale blue), and now we are seeing both colors dominate the runways for both spring and fall! So today we rounded up some of our favorite structured purses in that pale pink blush tone that no one can resist. It’s almost so neutral that it could go with anyone! Right? Swoon! Xo
Sleek & Suave
You have to know that at Kyle Alexandra we are ALL about color! We love pops of color, color blocking and we never typically tell you to wear all black because it’s just too safe. But it’s getting to be cold out and sometimes it’s fun to look sleek, suave and sophisticated in an all black ensemble. Only we STILL have a pop of color! Don’t think we wouldn’t. Between the bubblegum colored lipgloss and petal pink statement necklace, you’ll be wearing JUST enough color to be completely cool wearing all black. XO
Fun & Flirty Friday
Happy Friday All! We hope you have a fun fall weekend planned 🙂 We certainly do! We plan to relax, enjoy a Patriots game and make some delicious dinners. Since it is Friday we thought it would be nice to give you some casual inspiration. This outfit may be a bit out of your comfort zone – but that’s what is SO fun about fashion! You can try different things without feeling uncomfortable. Black boots, tights and a turtleneck are pretty safe – so why not add a beautiful red lace skirt as a fun and flirty piece? SO CUTE! Wear this on a casual Friday, out to dinner for date night or to brunch with the girls! XO
Comfortable & Cute
Now that we’ve at least acknowledged that fall is on the horizon, it might be pertinent to start creating some inspiration boards. That way when you go to purchase a few newbies for your fall wardrobe you’re not scrambling to figure out whats “in.” Now, we encourage you to follow trends that you like – but realize that the trend needs to fit your body type and is in your budget. You see, trends come and go! Something like a burgundy colored skinny jean has been “in” for the past few fall seasons – so they’re rewardable! Worth an investment. Something like the adorable tie up flats – featured here – may be “out” next season, which means if you want to try them out – purchase them at an Ann Taylor or outlet store! Just a few tips as we head into the fall season 😉 XO
Wedding Season
It’s no surprise here that it’s officially wedding season. From May through October, you see couples getting married – in the Bahamas, in Newport, in New Hampshire – all over the place! Which means you need to have a set of dresses and looks that travel with you easily to different locations. We suggest you stick with a neutral palette for accessories – much like the gold purse, shoes and necklace you see featured here. That way you can mix and match different colored dresses (both printed and not) easily, never having to buy multiple sets of accessories. And by all means – don’t forget to dance! XO
Sealed With A Kiss!
Summer is a great season to try out different lip colors. You’re skin is (hopefully) sun kissed – meaning that their is less foundation and blush to worry about. All you need is a bit of tinted moisturizer, mascara and a pop of color lipstick! We adore three different lip colors – pinks, corals and red. The darker color red can be a little much at times – so try and pair it with a simple ensemble. We are currently coveting corals, however – they go with any tan! Pinks are the instant fall back color. They tend to pair with any outfit and are appropriate for most events. Pucker up! XOXO
Just Dahlia-ing!
One of our favorite summer flowers is the Dahlia. It’s bright and blooming and oh-so-pretty. We sort of created this casual, relaxed outfit around the beautiful flower. We figure the red and navy color combo isn’t going away any time soon, so we paired it with some leather neutrals. It totally completes the look! You can wear this food and clothing shopping, to the beach or when running errands! Super easy.
Color Crush
Hello! Major color crush going on over here! Don’t you just love this bittersweet coral color cardigan paired with this DVF lilac purple dress? We are dying over this amazing ensemble. Throw in some nude and navy neutrals and it’s the quintessential spring work outfit! We know it may be hard to step out of your stockings into bare legs, but it really is finally time! Just pop on your nude trench for colder mornings and before you know it, you won’t even need a jacket.
Complete It!
We’ve discussed closet basics before, but not like this! In the winter there are a couple different types of sweaters and tops that complete any outfit. They can transition from work to a Saturday running errands – effortlessly, but when purchasing outfit completers we suggest that you have two sets. That way you won’t confuse, lose or out-wear your clothing. Some classic work tops include cashmere v-neck sweaters, crew neck sweaters and turtlenecks. They complete a pants, a dress or a skirt outfit – how easy?! Today we’ve rounded up our favorite tops for the working woman. An ivory silk blouse. long sleeve shirt, sweater or jacket is the easiest way to wear multiple outfits with less pieces of clothing in your closet.
