Color Moment: Red

Untitled #121

We know that we are coming to the end of February – the month of love, roses, pink, candy and everything serendipitous. But we are going to let red have one more moment to shine. Because the deep, luscious color is the perfect pop during this cold winter month. So purchase those adorable red roses, get the apple-colored manicure, touch up with a velvet red lipstick, or pop on a maroon hued turtleneck. The bright color will boost your energy! XO

Pale Pink

How lovely and lady-like is this all around look? Pale pink is such a classic color and when paired with black, it has a sort of Audrey Hepburn appeal in a way. Don’t you think? The pink accented by black accessories, pearls and dark red lipstick would look appropriate and  put together on a woman any age. Plus – it works for the office, a special engagement or a fancy dinner out. XO

We hope you all had a wonderful, safe, joyful Christmas (and holiday) season so far this month! With Kyle and Brian’s new adorable addition (Brooks!) and all of the lovely holidays, there has been so much to be grateful for. As we gear up for a relatively relaxing week (and a happy new year) – we encourage you to wear a fun ensemble for the ball drop! Some of us will be hosting and attending fancy parties, others may be snuggled up at home – however you plan to celebrate – welcome 2016 wearing your very best!
ps – we had to include the ADORABLE Kate Spade present bag – isn’t it fun?!

We always hear mixed reviews about makeup. Some women love to try new shades and colors, other disregard the products all together. And then there are some women who stick to routine because it’s what works! So we’ve decided to help you step outside the box by coming up with some different color pairing to help you with you experiment! Today’s story features a dark red scarlet lip, a pale pastel eye and cheek pairing and a nude nail. That way the lip stands out and the other features aren’t as bold. What do you think? Do you dare? Xx

Red & Grey

One of our very favorite holidays is next week and the Kyle Alexandra team is extremely excited! And we are guessing you are as well. Thanksgiving is such a comfy holiday. Between the feast and the family and friends, it’s nice to be casual, but still look appropriate. We’re sort of loving the idea of a sweater dress. It hides the evidence of all the food you will eat (you can opt to wear it with a belt or not!) and it’s that perfect cold weather ensemble. Add a red purse to give it that extra holiday pop!

Holiday Hosting

Untitled #96
Halloween is over and we are already on to the next holiday – Thanksgiving! This time of year brings out the best and the worst. Lots of unhealthy (albeit delicious) food and wonderful time spent with friends and family! Whether you are hosting this holiday season or attending a party or feast, it’s time to look your best. We are kicking off a month of holiday looks with an outfit that is both casual and dressy. You could easily wear this dress with a pair of boots and tights, but why not break out the sparkles? The holiday time is once a year – live a little! XO

Sleek & Suave

Untitled #91
You have to know that at Kyle Alexandra we are ALL about color! We love pops of color, color blocking and we never typically tell you to wear all black because it’s just too safe. But it’s getting to be cold out and sometimes it’s fun to look sleek, suave and sophisticated in an all black ensemble. Only we STILL have a pop of color! Don’t think we wouldn’t. Between the bubblegum colored lipgloss and petal pink statement necklace, you’ll be wearing JUST enough color to be completely cool wearing all black. XO

Pink Perfection

Untitled #90
We are “delightfully” HEAD-OVER-HEELS for the new arrivals at Kate Spade this fall! This gorgeous pink and black dress and quirky clutch are EVERYTHING. We admit that it would be overboard to wear it every single day, but would you blame us? The back of the dress is tied with an adorable bow and the whole outfit screams Breakfast at Tiffany’s! Love, love, love! XO

The Perfect Pout: Fall Edition

In addition to cleaning and flipping your closet from summer to winter, it’s also essential to do the same to your beauty products. You’re skin type and skin tone change with the seasons and not every product should be used for both. We will share a beauty post on the transition next week, but we thought we’d start slow – with lipsticks of course! In the summer we assume you want to that sun kissed, glowy look, that sometimes feels impossible to achieve. Cue raspberry, coral and pale pink lipsticks. that flawless lip color goes well with a dewy complexion. In the winter? We go dark over here at Kyle Alexandra. Trying darker tones can be fun, without getting too experimental. We love a cranberry, scarlet, mauve or cherry tone! These dark colors look great with jewel tones and they bring out the pinks in your skin as it gets lighter. Try it! And let us know your favorites. XO
