What do you get a guy who seems to have everything? Let’s face it – purchasing a thoughtful and useful present for the man in your life is hard. Whether it be a husband, brother, dad, boyfriend – it’s so much harder than shopping for women! So let’s hit the basics – as always. Opt for a classic present like a watch, new shoes or a tie – but bring it up a notch. Instead of purchasing at your typical store, why not splurge on a nicer pair – say from Bloomingdales, Brooks Brothers or Nordstrom. They’ll notice the difference in quality and it will last much longer! Xx

Awesome Accessories

Accessories change from season to season! Whether you switch out your statement necklace collection (according to color), you switch out your straw beach hats for wide brim fedoras, or your switch out your sandals for boots – accessories need a change up just like the rest of your wardrobe. One of our favorite ways to deal with this tricky weather transition – add scarves into the mix! They’re a layer you can add and subtract easily throughout the day (depending on weather and mood) – plus they add an extra “it” factor to an ensemble. A colorful scarf may pull entire outfit together! You really can’t go wrong. We are crushing on some of the combos above! XO

TGIF! Am I right? I am. Thank god it’s actually Friday – which means an enjoyable summer weekend is ahead of us! We hope that you are jaunting off to Nantucket, Cape Cod or somewhere up north!  Because if you are – this would be the best outfit to bring for the cooler nights spent by a bonfire roasting marshmallows and creating memories! It’s comfortable, warm and that bag can fit anything (think Mary Poppins)! Whatever your plans may be – enjoy them! XO

It’s officially cold (and winter)!
But there is no need to fret! This is the time to enjoy wonderful winter activities that the other months just don’t accommodate. At times it may be too cold to leave the house. Instead opt for a cozy day by the fire or invest in a spa/pampering day with girlfriends. In the summer parks can get pretty crowded. Bundle up and take a walk around the city! Or even ice skate! This is the time to embrace cold weather. And of course – in order to bundle up (no matter where you plan to go), you’ll need some cashmere sweaters! Invest in some (our favorite are from JCREW or Lord & Taylor). Whatever you do – HAVE FUN!

The next month will fly by, but you already knew that. With soirees, tree decorating, cookie swaps and present-buying, free time is few and far between. This year though, we suggest you embrace it for all it’s worth. Because after this month there won’t be as much to look forward to. We’ve put together a little list for you to check off as you get through the holidays. It’s activities like this that melt away stress. So enjoy! Laugh! And be merry!

Cobalt Craze

You hear us talk about jewel tones often, but highlighting one specific jewel tone at a time may be to your benefit. A color palette can be extremely subjective and, at times, hard to create. There are hundreds of shades of blue, so today we are highlighting this beautiful color: cobalt! It resembles sapphire and is extremely saturated. And just like most things: there is a right and wrong way to do cobalt. Rock this pretty blue by wearing a slouchy sweater, snood scarf, aviator sunglasses or even a swing skirt! Do not try to wear cobalt in a leather jacket, pair of tights or severe eye shadow. What are you waiting for? Go grab some cobalt!

Now that it’s officially cold (really cold) it’s time to break out the boots, the tights and the turtlenecks. We love a polished look – like the one featured here, today. The turtleneck is extremely professional and looks great with any colored skirt. Hunter green is a darker, saturated tone that is gorgeous for fall! Don’t you think? For a casual Friday pair the look with leather boots and for a day in the office pair it with black, patent heels. You can’t go wrong with polished!

One of our favorite things about cooler weather is CASHMERE! There are so many colors and styles to choose from it’s hard not to go crazy and buy them all. The great thing about cashmere is that it will usually last you a couple of seasons instead of one (depending on how often you wear it). That is why we suggest you shop for a few different kinds! Today we are featuring (from left to right) an open cardigan, v-neck cardigan, loose turtleneck sweater, v-neck sweater, slouchy sweater and a form-fitting turtleneck! Now – some of these are more casual than others, but that’s why its fun to mix and match them within your wardrobe! Go on and cuddle up with cashmere!

Did your heat kick on this morning? Ours sure did. Jack frost has shown up on our front steps (and our lawns) on this chilly Monday morning. Are you prepared?
