There are many different color combinations that make us happy ,here at Kyle Alexandra, but blue and pink is one of our favorites. Although you can mix different shades of each, we particularly love this hot pink and aqua pairing. Don’t you just feel happy looking at it? It is such a beautiful day today! Make sure to take a nice walk outside with the family or pop out of the office for a quick refresh. Enjoy the sunshine and breath in the clear air. The warmer days have finally arrived!
As we have explained before there are only a few trends that that the Kyle Alexandra team approves of each season. Trends come and go, recycle over and over. There are only a few trends that actually make sense. Crop tops? No way. Platform sneakers? Yeah right. We are featuring a few trends, today, that would work well into your lifestyle! Bright colors are an essential for warmer weather, so bright lightweight cardigans, colored skinny jeans and punchy handbags are a must. The go to footwear for spring includes metallic, patent nude and navy. Black and white are a huge spring trend, so try to buy a pretty work dress like the one featured here for a classic look. White lace is another big trend, but you should be careful about the way you wear it. We suggest you go for a pretty white lace skirt or a pullover sweater. Stripes are nautical and a great way to incorporate color into your wardrobe. Pair a striped shirt with a colored pant! And statement jewelry isn’t going anywhere. Brands like Kate Spade and JCrew have come out with some gorgeous pieces. So what are you waiting for? It’s time to shop!
Not to quote the Sound of Music, but let’s start at the very beginning. Shoes are one of the many fun purchases women get to make. Between flats, boots, heels, sandals and wedges, the cuts, colors and brands the possibilites are endless. As overwhelming as it can be, having that many options at our finger tips can help us find the right fit for our feet. But, as with everything, we need a solid base upon which to build. These are the six shoes that we think every women needs to build a solid shoe foundation. Once you have accumulated these six, you can add unique, fun shoes to your wardrobe. Usually we would include boots, but a working woman or a stay at home Mom needs to be comfortable on her feet while looking put together and some boots can come off as casual. So we will save that post for another day.
To start nude and black patent shoes are a must. Materials like suede and leather can get tarnished and dirty very easily. To have your flats and pumps last longer we suggest you stick with patent. Having one of each in a pump and a heel is absolutely essential. Feel free to walk to the office in black patent flats and switch over to your black patent pumps, once you hit your desk! We also suggest you transition from black to nude during the spring and summer. Nude tends to work better with brighter, more vibrant colors. There are situations that arise where an all black ensemble or natural outfit need a little something. Thats where a colorful pump or metallic flat come in handy. They add just a little pop of color to keep the look modern, yet sophisticated. All the shoes featured here are from our favorite shoe supplier, Cole Haan. Cole Haan has partnered with Nike to create the most comfortable air technology, that you often find in sneakers. So next time your giving a presentation at a board or PTA meeting, standing on your feet won’t feel so bad.
I think one of the hardest things some of our clients face, and many of the women we talk to, is color coordination. So we are here to break down the basics for you. We have even provided some examples so that you can compare them to your own closet. Last fall we discussed how to create the correct proportions. For example if you are wearing a fitted top try a flowy bottom. If you are wearing a flowy top, wear a fitted bottom. We are going to implement a similar theme to color coordination. If you wear a neutral bottom, such as black riding pants, grey or regular skinny jeans, try a punchy color on top! Colors like hot pink, coral, bright blues and greens, are all really popular for spring! We have simply paired a black flat with that ensemble to let the sweater speak for itself. Take a similar route with color on the bottom. Pair a colored skinny jean or pant with a neutral top, such as tan, black or grey. Add a metallic or nude flat to keep the look neutral but trendy.
We hope this helps! Let us know if you have any questions for us. You may just see the answer in our next post.
We don’t know about you but we are officially sick of this snowy winter! The Kyle Alexandra team has decided to overcome the dreary, winter days with a little color. Recently we had a mix and match season with a client where we went into her closet and showed her the various ways of pairing her pieces from previous seasons. Every time we paired an outfit that included bright colors we did a little happy dance! Bringing color into your wardrobe is easy and fun. Grab a bright colored pencil skirt, pair with a complimentary color cardigan and throw on some black tights and pumps. It will add that spring in your step that you’ve been missing!
Holiday season is in full swing which means so are the many glamourous parties you get to attend! From the cookie swap party to the holiday office soirée it may be difficult to figure out exactly what to wear. We are here to tell you that adding a dash of gold and a spoonful of sparkle is completely appropriate for this time of year. After all it is the glitter accents that will turn heads. We suggest that when attending a casual get together stick to a pair of black riding pants and a shimmery top. Instead of opting for a classic black patent pump, try red for a pop of color. When attending a more formal affair try to wear colors that represent the season. Red is a power color and exudes passion, desire and love. Add some twinkly baubles like the necklace above and you are sure to shine!
