We chose a scarlet red jacket because 1. it’s a seasonal color 2. this time of year can be dreary 3. it’s removable. Let’s discuss: Everyone goes for gold, silver, grey, beige when it comes to their winter coat, because neutrals go with every outfit. But a red jacket is special and it can really MAKE the outfit, instead of the other way around. Plus – this time of year can be cold, rainy, snowy and dreary. Brighten up your day (and everyone else’s)! Lastly, it’s removable. You could be wearing all black to a dressy event and want that little something extra to make you feel confident. T-G-I-F! Right?

It’s been a long week. Like a reeeallly long week, so this weekend is very, very welcome. Don’t you love how businesses and homes are decorated for the holidays? Thanksgiving is NEXT WEEK! How did this happen? Life moves way too fast, we swear. In order to get in the holiday spirit, we’ve rounded up some screenshots of what we hope our weekend looks like. Navy blue is DEFINITLEY the color the season. Muted purples and greens are definitley at play, but navy blue has made a statement in many, many ways. Not only will you see navy in suede booties, but in faux fur jackets, skater skirts, sheath dresses and now—interiors! And we have to mention how lovely it looks. It’s a total statement piece that commands the attention of the room. Adding accent pieces like neutral throws, multi-color art and pastel pink furniture, makes the room comforting, beautiful and modern. We love, love, love. xx

Booties can be tough to style, so we’re here to give you a few tips. Booties come in all different styles, shapes and textures. We plan to post a few times on how to style them with assorted bottoms, but today we zeroed in on tights (and two skinny black pants). Booties can either cut off your leg line or lengthen and define it. Many of these women opted for slimming black tights and pants and paired them with booties (with skinny and chunky heels, leather and suede) and you can tell that they all work! We highly suggest opting for a darker tight and a darker color booty to really accentuate your legs and make you look long, lean and smooth! Choosing a lighter leather or cognac bootie would pair better with assorted jeans, but when paired with a dark tight it can look disjointed and unflattering. Today’s wisdom is a simple reminder that can apply to so. many. things.

Bruises come and go, but a tattoo is permanent. Meaning that if you make a mistake, if you’re feeling less than, if you haven’t progressed or you failed at something, it’s time to pick yourself up, dust yourself off and try again! Failure can be permanent if we let it. If we let the negativity eat us up and consume our thoughts and emotions. Instead, use failure as a lesson. The next time you approach a situation or project you will have learned from the past and you’ll be able to attack it a different way. xx

It’s always fun to spruce up nooks and crannies around the house. Take for instance – your bedside! It’s such a small space, but can be very important. Not only does it need to be versatile and realistic, but chic and cute! It holds everything from current novels, to reading glasses, your phone, a vase with flowers, tissues—perhaps a candle?
